Queen of the Mist transfers to Charing Cross Theatre

Michael John LaChiusa’s musical is about the remarkable true story of Anna Edson Taylor, who set out to be the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel

The UK premiere production of Queen of the Mist is to transfer to Charing Cross Theatre, it has been announced.

Michael John LaChiusa's musical opened at the Brockley Jack in April 2019 and will now see a run at Charing Cross Theatre from 15 August to 5 October.

The musical is based on the true story of Anna Edson Taylor, who in 1901 on her 63rd birthday set out to be the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel of her own design.

The entire original cast will transfer with the show, with Trudi Camilleri (Ragtime, Death Takes a Holiday) playing Anna Edson Taylor.

The rest of the cast features Will Arundell (Mack and Mabel), Emily Juler (Jerry Springer: The Opera), Emma Ralston (Bananaman: The Musical), Tom Blackmore (Grindr: The Opera), Conor McFarlane (Assassins) and Andrew Carter (The Choir of Man).

Dom O'Hanlon directs the show which has musical supervision by Jordan Li-Smith and musical direction by Connor Fogel. The new set design is by Tara Usher, lighting design by Bethany Gupwell and sound design by Adrian Jeakins.

A London cast recording will be released ahead of the transfer.
