Julian Ovenden joins Gillian Anderson and Lily James in All About Eve in the West End

Tickets for the production go on sale on Friday

Julian Ovenden will join the cast of All About Eve, which runs in the West End next February.

Directed by Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge) the piece stars Gillian Anderson and Lily James, alongside Monica Dolan, Sheila Reid and Rhashan Stone. Further casting is to be announced.

Ovenden, who plays Bill in the production, has credits including Downton Abbey, The Crown and My Night With Reg.

All About Eve has set and lighting from Jan Versweyveld, costume from An D'Huys and sound from Tom Gibbons.

The original film was written and directed by Joseph L Mankiewicz and starred Bette Davis as Margo Channing, a Broadway star. Eve Harrington, played in the film by Anne Baxter, is a young fan who gets involved in Channing's life. The film received 14 Academy Award nominations and won six, including Best Picture.

Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on 28 September. The show runs for 14 weeks from 2 February to 11 May 2019 with an opening night on 12 February. Over 20,000 tickets will be available at £25 or under during the run.
