The Hunger Games stage show coming to purpose-built theatre in 2016

The show will be based on the popular multimedia franchise conceived by Suzanne Collins

Having sold 80 million copies around the world and taken over $1.5 billion at the box office, The Hunger Games is set to come to London in the form of a stage show.

Lionsgate, the studio behind the critically acclaimed film adaptations of Suzanne Collins' trilogy, have announced today that they will create a theatrical performance in a new, purpose-built theatre next to next to Wembley Stadium and Arena in Summer 2016.

Lionsgate's Tim Palen said it will be "a live theatrical experience" combining "creative genius, world-class production values and state-of-the-art technology".

The experience will be produced by award-winning Broadway producer Robin de Levita, co-founder of Imagine Nation, along with Harvey Goldsmith, Triangular Entertainment's Warren Adams and Brandon Victor Dixon of WalkRunFly Productions and entertainment executives Robert Harris and R&R Media's Gary Ricci.
