New Hamilton West End cast announced

Some cast members will stay on for another year in the show

The new cast for the West End production of Hamilton has been announced, with new cast members beginning on 3 December.

Jamael Westman will continue in the titular role and will be joined by Sifiso Mazibuko (Motown), who replaces Olivier Award-winner Giles Terera as Aaron Burr.

Taking over the role of Angelica Schuyler from Rachel John will be Allyson Ava Brown (Les Miserables), while Courtney-Mae Briggs will take on the role of Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds. Rachelle Ann Go will continue as Eliza Schuyler Hamilton.

Between 17 December 2018 and 12 January 2019 the role of Alexander Hamilton will be played by Ash Hunter.

Jon Robyns (Sister Act) will replace the Olivier Award-winning Michael Jibson as King George III, with Jason Pennycooke and Tarinn Callender continuing as Lafayette / Thomas Jefferson and Hercules Mulligan / James Madison respectively. Cleve September continues as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, while Dom Hartley-Harris (Bat Out of Hell) will take on the role of George Washington. Karl Queensborough (Sylvia) will play Hamilton during certain performances.

They are joined by Robson Broad, Lisa Darnell, Joe Griffiths-Brown, Sinead Long, Emile Ruddock and Ellena Vincent.

Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and hair and wig design by Charles G Lapointe.
