Fame 30th anniversary tour to arrive in London

The recently announced 30th anniversary tour of Fame is to run in London, it has been announced.

The show opened in Manchester in July this year and continues to the New Theatre in Cardiff, Woking, Sheffield, Edinburgh and more. The show tours throughout the rest of 2018 and 2019 and arrives in London at the Peacock Theatre between 11 September and 19 October 2019.

Based on the 1980 film, Fame – the Musical follows the lives of students at New York's High School for The Performing Arts. The musical has music from Steve Margoshes and lyrics from Jacques Levy and is based on David De Silva's concept.

Songs included in the musical are "Can't Keep It Down", "There She Goes/Fame!" and "Bring On Tomorrow". The show is directed and choreographed by Nick Winston with designs from Morgan Large and sound from Ben Harrison.

The cast includes Keith Jack (Any Dream Will Do) as Nick Piazza, alongside Mica Paris (Chicago) as Miss Sherman, and Jorgie Porter (Hollyoaks) as Iris Kelly.

Da Silva said of the 30th anniversary production: "The brilliantly directed and choreographed 30th anniversary Fame UK production of the show by Nick Winston is the best I've ever seen."
