Ore Oduba will make his UK stage debut in the role of Teen Angel at certain performances as part of the UK and Ireland tour of Grease.

During the tour's initial run at the Leeds Grand Theatre, Oduba will play the role on 24 and 25 June and from 29 June to 16 July. The previously announced Peter André will play the role during the other performances.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Oduba said: "Grease is one of the most iconic musicals of all time, so to be making my stage debut in such a well-loved piece is a dream come true. I can't wait to start rehearsals with our talented young cast and creative team; I just know this show is going to be truly electrifyin'!"

The production will star Dan Partridge, Martha Kirby, Louis Gaunt and Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky as Danny, Sandy, Kenickie and Rizzo respectively.

The production heads out on tour following its initial run at Curve in Leicester over Christmas 2016. It will open at Leeds Grand Theatre on 19 June, before playing at Southend, Sunderland, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leicester, Dublin, Oxford, Bromley and Cardiff.

Grease is choreographed by Arlene Philips, with designs by Colin Richmond, orchestrations and musical supervision by Sarah Travis, lighting design by Guy Hoare and sound design by Tom Marshall.
