Full casting has been announced for the UK tour of 84 Charing Cross Road, which opens at Darlington Hippodrome before performing in Wolverhampton, Malvern, Richmond and Oxford.

Stefanie Powers and Clive Francis lead the production, which is about a trans-Atlantic relationship between a New York writer and a London bookseller from the post-war '40s to the swinging '60s. Based on Helene Hanff's novel of the same name, James Roose-Evans adapted the piece into a stage play in 1981, with a 2015 revival also starring Francis alongside Janie Dee.

The rest of the cast is composed of Fiona Bruce (The Snow Queen) as Mrs Todd, Loren O'Dair (The Grinning Man) as Megan/Maxine, William Oxborrow (Guys and Dolls) as Mr Martin, Samantha Sutherland (The Recruiting Officer) as Cecily Farr and Ben Tolley (Dusty) as Bill Humphries/Alvin.

The tour, which is produced by the Cambridge Arts Theatre and Lee Dean in association with Salisbury Playhouse, is directed Richard Beecham with design by Norman Coates, lighting design by Chris Davey, sound design by Chris Warner and composition and musical direction by Rebecca Applin.
