Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats is set for a limited run at the London Palladium from early December.

The show, which is currently touring the UK, will play for twelve weeks at the Really Useful Group theatre.

Andrew Lloyd Webber will write additional songs for Rum Tum Tugger and Growl Tiger for the production, and he has assembled many of the original creative team including Sir Trevor Nunn who directs, with associate direction and choreography from Dame Gillian Lynne and set design by John Napier.

Long-term associate director for Cats Chrissie Cartwright will re-direct the show for the Palladium.

The production will be based on the touring version, with a few tweaks, according to the Mail, and is produced by David Ian and Really Useful Theatres.

Cats is based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats and features well-known songs including "Mr Mistoffelees" and "Memory". It first opened in the West End in 1981 and has been produced in over 20 countries worldwide.

Tickets for the production go onsale on 7 July, with casting to be announced.
