Full casting announced for Annie Get Your Gun

Paul Foster’s production opens in Sheffield in December

Full casting has been announced for Annie Get Your Gun which opens at Sheffield Crucible this December.

Paul Foster will direct Anna-Jane Casey (Forbidden Broadway) as Annie Oakley and Ben Lewis (Candide) as Frank Butler.

Irving Berlin's musical is a fictionalisted story of the life of Oakley, a sharpshooter from traveling Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. It features popular songs such as "There’s No Business Like Show Business", "Anything You Can Do" and "I Got The Sun In The Morning".

Buffalo Bill will be played by Nicolas Colicos (I'm Getting My Act Together), with Mike Denman (The Bodyguard) playing Pawnee Bill and Lauren Hall (Kiss Me Kate) as Winnie Tate.

The cast also includes Matthew Malthouse (Groundhog Day), Timothy Quinlan (Mack & Mabel), Cleve September (In the Heights), Maggie Service (The Country Wife) and Karl Seth (Hiawatha).

Completing the ensemble is Josh Andrews, Ronan Burns, Emma Caffrey, Matthew Croke, Omari Douglas, Rosie Fletcher, Melissa James, Jasmine Kerr, Natasha Mould, Jak Skelly, Leah West and Emma Woods.

Alistair David will choreograph the piece with musical direction from Paul Herbert. The designer is Laura Hopkins with lighting by Natasha Chivers and sound by Nick Lidster.

Annie Get Your Gun will open at Sheffield Crucible Theatre and run from 14 December 2016 to 14 January 2017 with previews from 8 December.
