To celebrate its 20 years in London, Disney's The Lion King brought together key figures from the industry and from its life in the UK to talk about the show's impact.

The film was played at the 19th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, as a tribute to the way the musical has changed London's theatreland.

Watch figures such as Jade Ewen, Rachel John, Pippa Ailion, Sita McIntosh and more explain what made the show so special when it first arrived and why it still manages to inspire audiences.

The 19th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards were announced at the Prince of Wales Theatre last night, where stars such as Aidan Turner, Vanessa Redgrave, Sophie Okonedo and Carrie Hope Fletcher accepted awards. The WhatsOnStage Awards are the only major awards voted for by the public.
