Donmar's The Way of the World: first look at Haydn Gwynne and the cast

Rehearsal images of the upcoming production of The Way of the World at the Donmar Warehouse have been released, offering a first look at James Macdonald's production.

William Congreve's Restoration comedy follows Lady Wishfort's dysfunctional family and originally premiered in 1700.

Linda Bassett was due to star in the production but withdrew for personal reasons. She was replaced by Haydn Gwynne in the role of Lady Wishfort alongside a cast including Fisayo Akinade, Gabrielle Brooks, Sarah Hadland, Justine Mitchell and Geoffrey Streatfeild.

The Way of the World runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 5 April to 26 May, with previews from 29 March.
