Beverley Knight returns to West End in The Bodyguard

The award-winning musical will open at the Dominion Theatre in July

Beverley Knight will return to the West End in July, reviving her critically acclaimed performance in The Bodyguard – winner of Best New Musical at the 2013 WhatsOnStage Awards.

Following a UK tour, The Bodyguard will now return to the West End for a limited six month run at the Dominion Theatre from 15 July 2016.

Thea Sharrock's production, based on the 1992 Oscar nominated film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, received its world premiere at Adelphi Theatre in 2012, with Beverley Knight joining the cast in 2013.

Knight has since gone on to build a successful career in musical theatre with starring roles in West End productions of Memphis and Cats.

She will be joined by Rachel John (Nicki Marron), Carole Stennett (alternate Rachel Marron), Mark Holden (Bill Devaney), Alex Andreas (Tony), Dominic Taylor (Sy Spector), Manttthew Stathers (Stalker) and Glen Fox (Ray Court).

Ensemble members are Faye Best, Pablo Ceresuela Torres, Carlos Ugarriza Crespo, Lisa Darnell, Charles Hagerty, Emma Joy Hopkins, Ibinabo Jack, Christopher Jeffers, Verity Jones, Phoebe Liberty, Raul Naranjo Garcia, Mary Lynn Tiep, Michael Wade-Peters, Matthew Wesley, Emmy Willow and Mark Willshire.

Final casting, including the role of Frank Farmer and the young boys who will alternate the role of Fletcher, will be announced shortly.
