Full list: Shortlists for the 2014 Olivier Awards

The nominations have been announced for the 38th annual Olivier Awards, with new musicals leading the shortlists

Nominations have been announced today (10 March 2014) for the 2014 Olivier Awards, winners of which will be announced at the Royal Opera House on Sunday 13 April.

Leading the way this year are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Merrily We Roll Along with seven nominations apiece, with new musicals Once, The Book of Mormon and The Scottsboro Boys receiving six nominations each.

The 38th Olivier Awards nominees were announced this morning at Rosewood London by Leigh Zimmerman and Nigel Harman.

The Oliviers mark the culmination of awards season in Theatreland, which also includes the Evening Standard, Critics' Circle and our own WhatsOnStage Awards – winners of which were announced last month (23 February 2014) at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
