At the Liverpool Empire, the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton and the Princess Theatre in Torquay, Let It Be will play on the very same stages that The Beatles played on their 1963 UK tour.

Casting has also been announced for the first UK production of It's a Bird… It's a Plane… It's Superman with Craig Berry (A Tale of Two Cities , Charing Cross Theatre) playing Superman opposite Michelle LaFortune (A Body to Diet For, Landor Theatre and La Boheme – OperaUpClose) as Lois.

The musical tells the tale of Superman’s efforts to defeat the vengeful Dr. Abner Sedgwick (Matthew Ibbotson), a ten-time Nobel Prize-losing scientist, who seeks to destroy the world’s symbol of good. Superman also comes into romantic conflict with Max Mencken (Paul Harwood), a columnist for the Daily Planet newspaper who is intent on revealing Superman's true identity, as he resents Lois Lane's attraction to Superman.

The score is by Charles Strouse (Annie) and Lee Adams (Bye Bye Birdie) and has a book by David Newman & Robert Benton who would go on to write the screenplays for Bonnie & Clyde and several of the Superman movies.

Also joining the cast for this All Star Productions show are Sarah Kennedy, Charlie Vose, Andrew Truluck, Joseph Murray, Thomas Widdop, Susanna Porter, Alexander Bartles, Jade Nelson, Charlotte Debattista and Danielle Black.

It's a Bird… It's a Plane… It's Superman opens on 4 March 2014 at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre Pub.
