How The Grinch Stole Christmas! musical to embark on UK tour
How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will embark on a UK tour in 2019 featuring a four-week season at The Lowry in Salford.
Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason's musical, based on the tales of the classic Dr Seuss character, broke box office records when it ran on Broadway for two consecutive years.
It will now have its UK premiere at the New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday 1 November, before touring to Glasgow, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham and running for four weeks at The Lowry in Salford.
Featuring classic numbers including "You're A Mean One Mr Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas", the musical tells the story of the green-furred mean creature Mr Grinch who tries to steal Christmas from the lovable Whos.
The tour will have sets designed by John Lee Beatty and costumes designed by Robert Morgan, and is based on the Broadway production originally created by director Jack O'Brien and choreographer John DeLuca.
