Whatsonstage.com Award-winning actress Amanda Holden could be set to host Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming ITV reality casting show Superstar, but has not yet signed on the dotted line, she has told ITV's This Morning.

Holden, who won the Best Actress in a Musical gong at the 2012 Whatsonstage.com Awards, will swap her judging role on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent for hosting duties on the new reality casting show. The schedule for ITV's broadcast of Superstar is still to be announced.

Superstar will see Lloyd Webber search for an actor to play Jesus in a stadium remounting of his 1971 Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar. The production will debut at The O2 arena in London later this year and expected to tour before the end of 2012.

Holden originated the role of Princess Fiona in the West End production of Shrek the Musical, a role she left October 2011 after announcing she was pregnant. Her previous West End credits include the 2003 production of Thoroughly Modern Millie for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning Holden made reference to her difficult birth saying: "As I have a West End background, and I nearly met Jesus the other week, I'm the best qualified."

She added: "We haven't signed on the dotted line yet ... I'm not sure if I'm supposed to talk about it! They've gone all over the country and andrew said they've even had some girls auditioning as well ... it's going to be a huge arena tour. It'll go worldwide."

Already pegged for the Superstar panel are ex-Spice Girl Melanie C and Neighbours actor Jason Donovan. They are joined by West End casting director David Grindrod. The ITV1 show is due to begin filming this summer.
