Dean John-Wilson to star in The King and I and extension announced

Further casting has been announced for the West End revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, which opens at the London Palladium in June.
Joining the previously announced, Kelli O'Hara, Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles – who all starred in the production's recent run in New York – is Dean John-Wilson as Lun Tha and Na-Young Jeon as Tuptim.
Directed by Bartlett Sher (Oslo), the Lincoln Centre production opened on Broadway in 2015 and won four Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival.
Set in 1860s Bangkok, the piece tells the story of an unexpected romance between a British schoolteacher and the King of Siam. It features classic tunes include "Whistle a Happy Tune", "Getting to Know You" and "Shall We Dance".
The King and I was last revived at the Palladium 18 years ago, starring Elaine Paige and Jason Scott Lee. The musical's original London production celebrates its 65th anniversary this year.
The production also has announced a final three-week extension which will take it through to 29 September.
The King and I runs at the London Palladium from 21 June until 29 September 2018.
