The Tony Award-winning production opens at the Palladium in July
Further casting has been announced for The King and I, which opens at the London Palladium in July.
Directed by Bartlett Sher (Oslo) the production will star Ruthie Ann Miles (Here Lies Love) – who reprises her Tony Award-winning performance as Lady Thiang – alongside the previously announced Kelli O'Hara as Anna and Ken Watanabe as The King.
The production – which is now booking until 8 September 2018 – had a 16 month run at New York's Lincoln Center for which it was nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning four including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Leading Actress (O'Hara), Best Featured Actress (Miles) and Best Costume Design.
Set in 1860s Bangkok, the piece tells the story of an unexpected romance between a British schoolteacher and the King of Siam. Its classic songs include "Whistle a Happy Tune", "Getting to Know You" and "Shall We Dance".
The King and I was last revived at the Palladium 18 years ago, starring Elaine Paige and Jason Scott Lee. The musical's original London production celebrates its 65th anniversary this year. Further casting is to be announced.
The King and I runs at the London Palladium from 21 June until 8 September 2018.
