As the West End production announces an extension to April 2019, Dan Gillespie Sells and Tom MacRae's musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie, also looks set for a big screen adaptation.

Addressing rumours that had been circulating recently, the show's Twitter account announced "The rumours are true! We are beyond excited to announce that #JamieLondon is being made into a film by the FAB @WarpFilms".

Details including cast and filming dates have yet to be announced. Warp Films previous projects include This Is England, Donkey Punch, Four Lions and the recent stage to screen adaptation of Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson's Ghost Stories.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie originally opened in Sheffield and is currently running at the Apollo Theatre. It is based on the real-life story of Jamie Campbell who decided he wanted to be a drag queen as a teenager and his mother Margaret who supports him. Earlier this year it won three WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Musical and was nominated for five Olivier Awards.

It was also announced recently that the musical will be broadcast into cinemas later this summer.
