Burke, Blue & Halliwell join West End casts for Children in Need

Alexandra Burke, Geri Halliwell and the members of Blue are among stars who will make cameo appearances in West End musicals to raise money for Children in Need.

Each celebrity will perform a song from a show alongside the regular cast for one night only. Halliwell will join Singin’ in the Rain on 25 October 2012, Burke Les Miserables on 18 September, with Blue rooting for the red jackets of Jersey Boys on 11 October.

In response to her recent casting, Spice Girl Halliwell said “I have a thing for rain, so I am very excited to be performing in the West End musical Singin’ in the … just imagine for one night I get to perform in this classic musical!”, with X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke adding “…I was absolutely blown away by Les Miserables when I saw the show and to join the cast of one of the West End’s most famous musicals is a real honour.”

The night of 15 November 2012 will also feature up-and-coming girl band Stooshe, plus R&B singer Macy Gray, both appearing in the same performance of Michael Jackson tribute show Thriller Live.

Tickets for each of the performances are on sale at £80 each at www.lastminute.com/pudsey, with half of each sale going to support Children in Need.

This is the second year of the POP Goes the Musical scheme, which last year saw Peter Andre sing in Ghost the Musical, the Sugababes in Mamma Mia! and Mel C in We Will Rock You alongside Brian May.
