Pippa Cleary

Pippa Cleary is an award-winning composer, lyricist and songwriter. She is the first female British composer to have had three musicals produced in the West End: The Great British Bake Off Musical, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ The Musical, and the Olivier-nominated My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?). She wrote the first original opening number for the 2023 Olivier Awards, performed by Hannah Waddingham at the Royal Albert Hall. Other credits include Bank of Dave the Musical, Regards to Broadway at the Garrick Theatre, Treasure Island at Bristol Old Vic, Snow White & Me, Prodigy at The Other Palace, A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the BBC, and In The Willows on UK tour. She writes extensively for adverts and commercials, including Coinbase’s award-winning “Everything Is Fine” campaign and Finish’s “I Love Doing Dishes.” Cleary won The Times Christmas Carol Competition with “In The Snow” and also runs Pippa’s Poppets, her preschool music and drama business teaching children across London.
