Ophelia Lovibond to star in The Effect in Sheffield
The W1A star will make her professional stage debut in the production, which is directed by Daniel Evans
Casting has been announced for the revival of Lucy Prebble's The Effect at Sheffield Theatres.
Artistic director Daniel Evans's production runs in the Studio from 30 June to 18 July 2015 (previews from 25 June).
Lovibond, best known for appearing in BBC satire W1A, will mark her professional stage debut in the production. She plays the role originated at the National by Billie Piper.
Prebble's award-winning play, which premiered at the National Theatre in 2012, explores the psychology of love, the mysteries of the brain and what really makes us who we are. It centres on two strangers who are brought together during a drug trial.
The Sheffield revival is designed by Amanda Stoodley, with lighting by David Plater, sound by Emma Laxton, video design by Tim Reid, movement direction by Lucy Hind and casting by Robert Sterne.
