See who’s got the Transylvania Mania!

Take a look at the new revival of Young Frankenstein.
Based on the 1974 film, the musical follows Frederick Frankenstein, who inherits his grandfather’s estate in Transylvania and finds himself drawn into the family business of reanimation.
The show, which has a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, and music and lyrics by Brooks, includes songs such as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” and the aforementioned “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”
Ore Oduba is playing the title role in the new production, while the cast also features Jessica Martin as Frau Blücher, Rhiannon Chesterman as Elizabeth Benning, Pete Gallagher as The Monster, Curtis Patrick as Igor, Simeon Truby as Inspector Hans Kemp/Harold the Hermit, and Julie Yammanee as Inga.
Ensemble members include Belle Kizzy Green, Robin Kent, Bryan Mottram, Alanna Panditaratne, Oliver Ramsdale, Hakeem Tinubu, Patricia Wilkins and Jessica Wright.
The creative team includes Nick Winston as director and choreographer, Francesca Warren and Charlie Ingles as co-musical supervisors, Sophia Pardon on set design, Ben Harrison on sound, Aaron J Dootson on lighting, Matt Powell on video and projection, Lorraine Parry on costumes, Nicola Thorp on wigs and make-up, and Lauren Kate Hampton as associate choreographer. Casting is by Jim Arnold.
Running to 30 November 2025 at the Hope Mill Theatre, ahead of a transfer to Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre, a press night is scheduled for tonight, 15 October.
