The historic venue will undergo an extensive redevelopment next year
York Theatre Royal has unveiled its new season, which runs from September 2014 until March 2015, when the venue will undergo a £4.1million redevelopment.
In-house productions in the season include revivals of Harold Pinter's Betrayal (3-18 October 2014), directed by Juliet Foster, and Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge (13-28 February 2015), helmed by artistic director Damian Cruden.
The Christmas panto will be Old Mother Goose (11 December-31 January), directed by Cruden with legendary dame Berwick Kaler.
Visiting productions in the new season include Roy Williams' new version of Antigone (21-25 October), directed by Marcus Romer for Pilot Theatre, and Nicholas Wright's stage adaptation of Pat Barker's Regeneration (23-27 September), directed by Simon Godwin.
And Northern Broadsides' new revival of She Stoops to Conquer will visit from 25 to 29 November.
As previously announced, York Theatre Royal will stage the premiere of The Kite Runner (27 October-1 November) in a co-production with Nottingham Playhouse and Liverpool Everyman.
The Theatre will close next March for eight months, during which time the foyer space will be increased, the auditorium reconfigured and refurbished and the whole building made more accessible.
During this period the company will restage its award-winning production of The Railway Children in a temporary purpose-built space in the grounds of the Railway Museum, where it premiered in 2008.
