The hit West End musical Wicked has extended its booking period at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 5 November 2016.

The show, which is set to become the ninth-longest running show in the West End, will release 500,000 new tickets to go on sale from 7 September 2015.

Wicked, which "tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz," has won two Olivier Audience Awards, an Evening Standard Theatre Award, a Visit London Gold Award and nine WhatsOnStage Awards.

New casting has recently been announced for the production, with Emma Hatton (Elphaba) and Savannah Stevenson (Glinda) both extending their contracts into 2016.

Joining them from 21 September 2015 will be Oliver Savile as Fiyero, Sean Kearns as Doctor Dillamond, current West End ensemble cast member Daniel Hope as Boq and Carina Gillespie as Standby for Glinda.

With music and lyrics by Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, Wicked is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire.
