Want to star in a play? The Octagon needs young men

The Octagon Theatre Bolton is looking for local young men with a playing age of 18 – 30 years old (please note actors must be 18 or over to apply), who would like to audition for the Octagon’s production of Early One Morning
(9 October – 1 November 2014) by Les Smith.

No previous acting experience is necessary to be in the Community Company, although some singing ability would be beneficial. All applicants must fill in an application form and return it to the Octagon by 5pm on Thursday 21 August; invited workshop audition sessions will then be held on Saturday 23 August 2014 at the Octagon Theatre Bolton.

All successful applicants will be contacted prior to the 23 August with details of their audition time slot. If you do not hear from the Octagon to arrange an audition then please assume that you have not been selected this time.

All of the Community Company roles being cast are voluntary, and no expenses will be paid.

Applicants must be prepared to make a commitment to the rehearsal and performance schedule. A full rehearsal and performance schedule will be included in your information pack. No previous professional acting experience is necessary just enthusiasm, total commitment and lots of hard work!

Early One Morning is written by Bolton playwright Les Smith. It is based on the true story of 26-year-old soldier James Smith from Bolton. A soldier who fought in some of the fiercest battles of the First World War; he was wounded, promoted, and received two Good Conduct Medals. He was then to face trial for his life.
