Waitress audience members compete in Cast Album Karaoke

In partnership with WhatsOnStage, the latest event took place on 8 May and saw six audience members perform songs from Sara Bareilles' show – one of whom will be picked by a judging panel including WhatsOnStage's Daisy Bowie-Sell and casting director David Grindrod, to appear in a cameo role in a performance of the show.

Chizzy Akudolu and cast member Laura Baldwin hosted the evening and the singers were accompanied by Waitress musical director Katharine Woolley.

Bareilles and Jessie Nelson's musical, opened in the West End in March this year, starring Katharine McPhee in the role of Jenna, the waitress and pie-making expert who dreams of escaping her loveless marriage.

The show earned a four star review from Sarah Crompton, calling the show 'a treat'.
