The award-winning comedy will embark on another UK & Ireland tour next year
Casting has been announced for the UK tour of The Play That Goes Wrong, which opens at the Theatre Royal Bath on 10 January 2017.
Urinetown and Mrs Henderson Presents star Katie Bernstein will play Annie alongside Jason Callender (Jonathan), Edward Howells (Dennis), Edward Judge (Robert), Alastair Kirton (Max), Meg Mortell (Sandra), Graeme Rooney (Trevor) and Patrick Warner (Chris).
The production, which continues to play at the Duchess Theatre in London's West End, will tour to 29 venues nationwide and to Ireland’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin.
Winner of the WhatsOnStage and Olivier Awards for Best New Comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong has since been licensed to 33 countries including Japan, France and Hungary, and will open on Broadway next year.
Co-written by Mischief Theatre members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields – also the team behind Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery – the play introduces the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society as they attempt to mount a murder mystery play.
The Play That Goes Wrong opens at the Theatre Royal Bath on 10 January 2017, before touring to Newcastle, Coventry, Colchester, Cheltenham, Sheffield, Poole, Salisbury, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Stoke on Trent, Eastbourne, Exeter, Leeds, Llandudno, Salford, Norwich, Birmingham, Dublin, Nottingham, Southampton, Malvern, Plymouth and Canterbury.
