Laurence Boswell's production of The Mentor is to transfer to the West End later this year.

Daniel Kehlmann's play opened at Bath Theatre Royal in April this year, starring F Murray Abraham in the role of Benjamin Rubin. The piece will transfer to the Vaudeville from 24 June to 2 September.

F Murray Abraham will reprise his role in the piece, which is set in a dilapidated art nouveau villa in the German countryside where a successful playwright is being paid to mentor an emerging one.

The piece, translated by Christopher Hampton, was a UK premiere and was the first time one of Kehlmann's plays have been seen outside Germany.

Murray Abraham won an Academy Award for his role as Salieri in Amadeus, while his TV credits include Homeland.

The rest of the cast are Daniel Weyman as Martin Wegner, Naomi Frederick as Gina Wegner and Jonathan Cullen as Erwin Rudicek.

In his review of the show for WhatsOnStage, Matt Trueman said Murray Abraham was "One of those actors who can make moments momentous."
