Dynasty actress Stephanie Beacham is to play Princess Margaret alongside Jason Merrells (How the Other Half Loves) in a new play by Richard Stirling, A Princess Undone.

Directed by Matthew Gould, with design by Norman Coates, Stirling's play will have its world premiere at Cambridge Arts Theatre from 19 to 22 October.

The play is based on real life events that saw the Queen's sister remove several bags of potentially scandalous correspondence from the Queen Mother's home, with the intention of burning them.

A Princess Undone runs at the Cambridge Arts Theatre from 19 to 22 October, before touring to Eastbourne (1 to 5 November) and Guildford (7 to 12 November).
