Casting has been announced for the first major revival of Clare McIntyre’s play
Sophie Melville will star in the Orange Tree Theatre's upcoming revival of Low Level Panic.
The actress earned plaudits for her turn in Iphigenia in Splott, winning an Evening Standard Award nomination for Best Actress.
The rest of the cast is Katherine Pearce (Husbands and Sons, Secret Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith) and Samantha Pearl (Tomorrow I was Always a Lion).
Chelsea Walker directs Clare McIntyre's piece, which follows three flatmates in their twenties as they come to terms with sex, bodies and each other. The piece originally ran at the Royal Court in 1988 when it won the Samuel Beckett Award.
Melville starred in Gary Owen's scorching monologue Iphigenia in Splott, about one young woman living in poverty in Wales, which opened at Sherman Cymru before touring the UK and running at the National Theatre.
Walker's previous directing credits include P’Yongyang by In-Sook Chappell and Klippies by Jessica Sain.
Low Level Panic runs at the Orange Tree Theatre from 20 February to 25 March, with previews from 16 February.
