Producers have cancelled the first three performances of Tim Minchin’s musical
The world premiere of new musical Groundhog Day has been delayed due to the 'technical requirements' involved in the production.
Previews for the show were originally meant to begin on 11 July but have now been postponed until 15 July with all three previews scheduled before 15 July being cancelled.
Directed by Matthew Warchus with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, the production is adapted from the hit 1993 film starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.
The Old Vic said in a statement: "We are contacting all audience members for the affected performances to move their booking to an alternative performance or to offer a full refund (including booking fee)."
Groundhog Day will now open for previews at the Old Vic on 15 July with an opening night on 16 August.
