The RSC are advertising for a residential director to work on the project
The Royal Shakespeare Company are advertising for a residential director to work on a UK tour of Matilda.
The company first produced Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly's musical in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2010 before opening in the West End the following year. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2012.
According to the job posting, the role's purpose is to 'tour with Matilda the Musical and to be responsible for its artistic upkeep.'
A full-time position, the contract runs from October 2017 until August 2019. The job posting does not reveal any proposed dates, venue or cast for the tour.
Based on the Roald Dahl novel of the same name, the musical features the songs"Revolting Children", "Naughty" and "When I Grow Up".
The production is currently touring the US and Australia, and continues to run at the Cambridge Theatre in London.
Matilda is currently booking at the Cambridge Theatre until December 2017.
