Robert Icke’s production opens at the National Theatre later this month
We caught up with Mark Strong and Hope Davis, two of the stars of David Hare's latest play, The Red Barn.
Based on the novel La Main by Georges Simenon, Hare sets The Red Barn in Connecticut in 1969 where two couples struggle home through the snow after a party.
Robert Icke directs Strong, who returns to the stage following his magnetic turn as Eddie Carbone in A View From A Bridge. Davis will make her UK theatre debut in The Red Barn. Her previous credits include the Broadway production of God of Carnage and the TV series In Treatment for which she received two Emmy Award nominations.
The Red Barn runs at the National's Lyttelton Theatre from 17 October to 19 November, with previews from 6 October.
