Margaret Atwood will tour the UK and Ireland to celebrate her new book The Testaments, which will be released in September.

She will visit six venues across October and November – Gateshead, Salford, Birmingham, Oxford, Brighton and Dublin – to coincide with the launch of her eagerly anticipated new novel.

The Testaments is set in the same world as Atwood's previous hit The Handmaid's Tale and takes place 15 years after the initial book. The TV adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale is about to start its third season on UK screens.

Atwood will be appearing live at the National Theatre on 10 September, with her appearance being beamed out to over 1000 venues across the UK, US and Canada, with delayed screenings planned in Australia and New Zealand. You can find a list of participating cinemas here.

She will be interviewed about the book, The Handmaid's Tale's world of Gilead and more by novelist and journalist Samira Ahmed.
