Top TV child entertainers from Britain’s Got Talent and Got To Dance are going head to head in Liverpool in a new talent contest to perform for The Queen.
Their performances next Sunday at The Liverpool Empire could win them a place in a special Royal Gala to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Acts including local dancing duo Tayluer and Elliot and singers Hollie Steel and Georgia Odette will perform at the Liverpool Empire in Liverpool on Sunday (16 September) hoping to be chosen by judges for a place in the children’s royal variety show.
The 13 acts appearing on Sunday are outstanding young talents, who have been selected from more than 1,000 under-18s, hoping to perform for royalty at London’s famous Savoy Theatre.
The First News Diamond Kids Royal Gala, hosted by Jason Donovan, is being organised by the national children’s newspaper, First News, and takes place on Sunday 4 November.
The newspaper’s editor Nicky Cox MBE said: “We had an impressive panel of experts who chose the acts to perform at Liverpool, including Arlene Phillips, X Factor musical director Nigel Wright and BBC The Voice’s voice coach Yvie Burnett. We were all astonished by the talent in Liverpool and the surrounding area. We can’t wait for the live show next Sunday. It’s going to be a very special and entertaining family night!”
Yvie and Nicky will join fellow judges Kevin Wood, boss of panto producers First Family Entertainment, and a Heart radio DJ at Liverpool. But the audience also get to vote for their favourite act of the night which could get them a place on the bill for the Diamond Jubilee Royal Gala.
