Listen to Ben Forster perform “The Winner Takes It All” ahead of new album release

Ben Forster has released a new single, a cover of ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All”, to accompany his upcoming studio album, Musicals Greatest Hits, which will be available through Westway Music on 21 November.

The vocalist said of the choice of single: “I’ve always been drawn to the honesty in this song. It’s raw, it’s heartbreaking, and it allows me to explore a different side of “storyteller” beyond the roles that I’ve played on stage.”

The full album, Musicals Greatest Hits, was recorded with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. It features the performer’s versions of several musical numbers, marking the first time his takes on such material are available on record, despite his West End and international credits in shows like The Phantom of the Opera. The album also includes a duet with West End performer Sydnie Christmas on “Tell Me It’s Not True” from Blood Brothers.

In addition to the album release, Forster has announced a UK tour for 2026.
