A new film version of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is in the pipeline.

Produced by Amazon Studios, the piece will be developed and shot by director Jon M Chu, alongside producer Scott Sanders. A new screenplay will be penned by Daniel Goldfarb.

The show has run in the West End, Broadway and all over the world. Songs included in the piece are “Any Dream Will Do”, “Close Every Door To Me”, “Jacob and Sons”, “There’s One More Angel In Heaven” and “Go Go Go Joseph”. It tells the biblical story of Joseph and his eleven brothers.

It has been seen on tour and twice in the West End in recent years, with a cast led by Jac Yarrow. Casting, release date and more details are to be revealed.
