The initial cast list has been announced for the tenth anniversary of the Old Vic Theatre's 24 Hour Plays which takes place on Sunday 24 November 2013.
Comedian Rob Brydon, who performed in The 24 Hour Plays in 2007 and hosted them in 2011, will return this year to host the tenth anniversary celebrity gala.
The cast will include Catherine Tate, who hosted the event in 2006, Romeo and Juliet actor Douglas Booth who will be making his professional stage debut, Holby City's Tina Hobley, Miranda actor Tom Ellis and Clive Rowe, who is currently appearing in the National Theatre's The Light Princess. Further names will be announced in coming weeks.
The event is an evening of never to be seen again performances with six short plays being conceived, written, cast, rehearsed and then performed in 24 hours.
To celebrate the tenth birthday of the event at The Old Vic, a short parody on the project has been created featuring past participants including; Michael Sheen, Kelly Brook, Jessica Hynes, Meera Syal, Anthony Head, Mathew Horne, Ronni Ancona, Lesley Manville, Nick Moran, Nigel Lindsay, Robert Glenister, Paterson Joseph and Douglas Hodge. Future episodes will follow, appearing on The Old Vic’s website.
Tickets, which start at £75, are on sale now and can be purchased from the Old Vic box office.
