In pictures: Nell Gwynn opening night

The cast of Nell Gwynn celebarated opening night at the Apollo Theatre last night with guests including David Suchet and Clive Rowe in attendance.

Jessica Swale's new play is set in 1660 and charts the rise of Nell Gwynn from her roots in Coal Yard Alley to her success as Britain's most celebrated actress and the king's consort. The cast includes Gemma Arterton as Nell.
