Idina Menzel to release new album

Wicked and Glee star Idina Menzel has announced that she will release a new album this autumn.

Talking at the Billboard Music Awards last night, the actress said the album will feature all original music, adding: "It's kinda pop, I don't know, you'll have to let me know what you think it is, but it's original songs."

The actress is best known for originating the role of Elphaba in Stephen Schwartz's musical Wicked, and Maureen in Rent on Broadway and film. She is also the voice of Elsa in the smash hit Disney movie Frozen.
