A new music video has been released for How To Win Against History.

The musical comedy was first seen at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, and has been reimagined for a new run at Bristol Old Vic this summer.

With book, music, and lyrics by Seiriol Davies (who also stars), it tells the story of Henry Cyril Paget, the fifth Marquis of Anglesey.

The video for the show’s opener, “Mainstream,” available to watch below, sees Henry and co laying out their plan for the evening, which is to tell Henry’s story in the form of a musical. It was recorded by DMLK Video.

As well as Davies, original cast members Matthew Blake and Dylan Townley return.

On the creative team is director Lisa Spirling, set designer Hayley Grindle, costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting designer Robbie Butler, sound designer Dan Samson, musical director and co-orchestrator Dylan Townley, musical supervisor and co-orchestrator Leo Munby, movement director Mateus Daniel and associate director Lydia Cook.

It was originally devised by Davies, Blake, Townley, Áine Flannagan and Alex Swift, who originally directed.

Presented in partnership with Francesca Moody, the show will run in Bristol from 19 June to 12 July, marking the 150th anniversary of Paget’s birth. After that, it’ll transfer to Norwich Playhouse and Underbelly.
