Ghost the Musical will embark on a new UK tour in January 2019.

The hit musical, based on the film of the same name that starred Patrick Swayze alongside Demi Moore, follows murdered boyfriend Sam as he tries to save his still-living girlfriend Molly from grave danger. It has book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin (who wrote the original film), with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.

The tour will star Rebekah Lowings (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Molly, alongside Niall Sheehy (Titanic) as Sam and Jacqui DuBois (Rent) as Oda Mae Brown.

The cast will be completed by Sergio Pasquariello (Heathers) as Carl alongside Jules Brown as Willie, James Earl Adair as the Hospital Ghost and Lovonne Richards as the Subway Ghost. Jochebel Ohene Maccarthy plays Louise and Sadie-Jean Shirley is Clara with Chanelle Anthony, Josh Andrews, Samantha Noel, Charlotte-Kate Warren, Kage Douglas and Michael Ward.

The musical is directed by Bob Tomson, choreographed by Alistair David, designed by Mark Bailey with lighting design by Nick Richings and sound design by Dan Samson.

The tour opens on 8 January at Churchill Theatre Bromley before visiting Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Woking, Londonderry, Brighton, Edinburgh, Chester, Sunderland, Cardiff, Glasgow, Carlisle, Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool and Bradford.

Originally opening in Manchester in 2011, the piece had its West End premiere the same year and touring in 2013. It won one WhatsOnStage Award for Richard Fleeshman as Best Actor in a Musical and was nominated for five Olivier Awards.
