George Sampson joins cast of Our House

Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson will join the cast of Our House which will tour the UK from August.

The dancer won the talent show's second series with his street interpretation of "Singin' in the Rain", and went on to play parts in the Street Dance film series, as well as appearing in Emmerdale and Waterloo Road. He made his West End debut in Into the Hoods at the Novello Theatre in 2008. He will play the role of Reecey.

He will join Sophie Matthew, Jason Kajdi and Deena Payne, who replaced Linda Nolan who withdrew from the tour due to ill health.

Our House premiered in 2002, and is based on the songs of the '80s ska band Madness. With a book by Tim Firth, the musical won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The musical is about Joe Casey whose life changes because of a decision he makes on his 16th birthday.

The production will be directed by James Tobias and choreographed by Fabian Aloise.

Our House runs at Crewe Lyceum from 10 to 12 August, and then tours to Sheffield, Llandudno, Weston-super-Mare, Skegness, Malvern, Hastings, Swansea, Blackpool, Bridlington, Bromley, Portsmouth, Coventry, Weymouth and High Wycombe.
