Further performances of the National Theatre's award-winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time have been cancelled following last month's ceiling collapse at the Apollo Theatre.

The show, which was halted by falling masonry 40 minutes into the performance on 19 December, was initially due to reopen tomorrow (4 January), but a statement on Nimax Theatres' website says that performances will now recommence on 13 January.

The incident resulted in almost 80 people injured.

The Apollo has 775 seats over four levels. It opened its doors in 1901 and is currently owned by Nimax Theatres.

Westminster City Council are currently investigating the cause of the collapse. The council said that it would have to finish its investigation, the results of which are expected in the next few weeks, before concluding if the theatre was safe to reopen.

A report from LBC suggests that the National Theatre could be seeking out a new venue for the production to continue the run.

People with tickets for the further cancelled performances are asked to contact their original point of purchase.
