Barn Theatre announces full cast of Yes, Prime Minister

The Barn Theatre in Cirencester has revealed complete casting for its upcoming revival of Yes, Prime Minister.

Written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, the play centres on Prime Minister Jim Hacker as he faces political and economic challenges while navigating his relationship with civil servant Sir Humphrey Appleby, including negotiations over a loan and conflicts within government.

The cast will be led by Clive Hayward (Anne Boleyn: The Musical) as Sir Humphrey and Jay Villiers (Local Hero) as Jim Hacker, alongside William Owen (EastEnders) as Bernard Wooley, Ruth Gibson (Mountains) as Claire Sutton, Maurey Richards (The Marilyn Conspiracy) as Gordon the American Ambassador and Cameraman, and Mark Stratton (Deals and Deceptions) as Jeremy Burnham and Simon Chester.

Charlotte Westenra directs an all-female creative team that includes set and costume designer Anna Kelsey, lighting designer Jodie Underwood and sound designer Elizabeth Purnell.

Yes, Prime Minister will run at the Barn Theatre from 28 August to 3 October, with a national press night on 1 September.
