Jamie Lloyd’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita, which ran at the London Palladium from June to September 2025, is to transfer to Broadway.

Rachel Zegler will be returning in the title role, with the production set to open next spring, with venue, dates and details to be revealed, though the show will be “at a Shubert theater to be announced.”

Zegler made her West End debut in the production, which ran for a 12-week limited season before closing on 6 September 2025. Further casting is to be announced.

One of the production’s central staging elements saw Zegler perform “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” live from the Palladium’s exterior balcony to crowds gathered in the street below. Details of how the number will be staged for Broadway have not been confirmed, though this will not be replicated.

Evita last appeared on Broadway in 2012, in a revival starring Elena Roger and Ricky Martin. A concert staging at New York City Center in 2019, directed by Sammi Cannold, did not lead to a full Broadway run.

A ten-track cast recording from the London production is available now. A full live album is also expected later in 2026.

Lloyd said: “I was completely overwhelmed by the incredible response to Evita in London. It is an honor to work with Tim and Andrew, and I’m looking forward to revisiting the production with Rachel, whose stellar performance continues to inspire me. When we started discussing a New York production, it became apparent that our Palladium staging of “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” would not be possible. I am really excited to explore a new idea, made especially for Broadway.”

It is produced by Jamie Lloyd for the Jamie Lloyd Company and Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals by arrangement with LW Entertainment.
