Donmar Warehouse unveils 2026/27 season shows, featuring Simon Russell Beale, Rupert Everett and Elvis corpse comedy

The Donmar Warehouse has announced further productions for its 2026/27 season.

The King’s Ransom will run from 5 December 2026 to 6 February 2027, with a press night on 16 December. Inspired by the true story of an attempt to steal Elvis Presley’s body, the new play is written by Bruntwood Prize winner Stuart Slade and directed by Matthew Dunster.

The creative team includes set designer Anna Fleischle, costume designer Jean Chan, lighting designer Sally Ferguson and sound designer Holly Khan.

Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land follows from 13 February to 10 April 2027, with a press night on 23 February. Patrick Marber directs Simon Russell Beale as Hirst and Rupert Everett as Spooner, joined by Olivier Huband as Foster and Jay Simpson as Briggs. Rae Smith is designer, with lighting by Zoe Spurr.

The Donmar has also confirmed casting for the previously announced world premiere of Danny Lee Wynter’s Ilford Boy, which runs from 10 October to 28 November, with a press night on 20 October. Sheader directs Lindsey Coulson as Eileen, Cary Crankson as Trevor, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr as Ken, Aaron Gill as Raj, Charlotte Jaconelli as Ann, Sinead Matthews as Jackie, Craig Stein as Patrick, Leo Whitfield-Harris as Ted and Ria Zmitrowicz as Tillie.

The creative team includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, choreographer and intimacy director Ebony Molina, voice director Barbara Houseman, dialect coach Hazel Holder and casting director Lotte Hines.

Alongside the season announcement, the Donmar revealed that Azuka Oforka and Rafaella Marcus have been named recipients of the 2026 Theatre Royal Haymarket Writers Award, presented in partnership with Access Entertainment.

The award commissions two playwrights each year to develop new work with support from the Donmar’s artistic team. Oforka will develop a play exploring the history and legacy of the Labour Party Black Sections, while Marcus will work on a stage adaptation of Natalie Haynes’ novel A Thousand Ships, about the women involved in the Trojan War.

Public booking for The King’s Ransom and No Man’s Land opens on 31 July.
