”Dirty Dancing” unveils 2023 tour cast and dates

Dirty Dancing has announced its casting for the 2023 UK and Ireland tour, following its successful run at the Dominion Theatre in London.

Michael O’Reilly and Kira Malou, who starred as Johnny and Baby, will reprise their roles for the tour. O’Reilly has previously appeared in West Side Story at the Leicester Curve, while Malou has starred in Fame at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.

Producer Karl Sydow said today: “I am thrilled about the success of the second Dominion Theatre season and to be going out on tour for the fifth time since 2011. We have an amazing cast for this new tour.”

The rest of the company includes Georgia Aspinall as Penny Johnson, Jack Loy as Dr Jake Houseman, Taryn Sudding as Marjorie Houseman, Daisy Steere as Lisa Houseman, Danny Colligan as Billy Kostecki, Colin Charles as Tito Suarez, Christian James as Neil Kellerman, Mark McKerracher as Max Kellerman, and Lydia Sterling as Elizabeth.

The show will also feature Mark Faith, Lowri Hamilton, Tyler Lotzof, Jody Zimmerman, Eva Phillips, Callum Fitzgerald, Michael Nelson, Joel Benjamin, Akeem Ellis-Hyman, Jenna Warne, Taylor Bridges, Daisy West, Aaron J Smith, Ayden Morgan, and Thomas Inge.

The production is directed by Federico Bellone and choreographed by Austin Wilks, with costumes designed by Jennifer Irwin, lighting by Valerio Tiberi, sound design by Chris Whybrow, music supervision by Conrad Helfrich, and supervising musical direction by Richard John. The show is written by Eleanor Bergstein and produced by Karl Sydow in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions.

The tour will kick off on 25 May at the New Wimbledon Theatre in south London. After that it will visit Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Stoke-on-Trent, Sheffield, Birmingham, Oxford, Newcastle, Cork, Belfast, Dublin, Derry, Blackpool, Bradford, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Canterbury and Hull.

Dirty Dancing is inspired by the popular 1987 film and features hit songs such as “Hungry Eyes,” “Hey! Baby,” “Do You Love Me?” and “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.”
