It’s set to be a case of life imitating art as open
auditions are held for the upcoming production of {A Chorus
Line::L1566459286} at the London Palladium.
The auditions will take place on 1 October 2012 at the
London Palladium, and producers of the show are looking for male and female
performers aged 18 to 35. The show opens on 19 February 2013 (previews from 2
February).
A Chorus
Line – which takes a behind-the-scenes look at 17
hopefuls auditioning for just eight places in a new Broadway musical – has a
book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Date, with music by Marvin Hamlisch
and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Its famous score includes numbers such as
“I Hope I Get It”, “Sing!” and, most memorably, “One
(Singular Sensation)”.
A Chorus Line is directed by Bob
Avian, who also directed the 2006 Tony-nominated Broadway production, and the
production is being dedicated to Marvin Hamlisch, who died in August this year.
